He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
— Micah 6:8

Hope West Side is a partner with Hope For New York, an organization seeking to mobilize volunteers and financial resources to support non-profit affiliates serving the poor and marginalized in New York City. Together with HFNY, our vision is to see a New York City in which all people experience spiritual, social, and economic flourishing through the demonstration of Christ’s love.

Operation Exodus

Operation Exodus desires for NYC Latino Youth to thrive as they achieve their God-given potential. The organization provides educational opportunities and mentoring relationships to help launch NYC Latino Youth to college and lives of excellence.

How can we support Operation Exodus?

  • Build mentoring relationships with students - Every Saturday morning, Operation Exodus invites volunteers to mentor kids ages Kindergarten to 8th grade. The program involves group worship, Bible study lessons, and fun activities or outings. Mentors often commit two Saturdays per month.

  • Volunteer at a one-off event - Operation Exodus hosts several large events each year such as Career Day, ice skating in Central Park, and hiking on Bear Mountain. Volunteers are always needed to ensure the events run smoothly and that the kids have a safe, fun, and memorable experience.

Do For One

Do For One’s vision is a future where the world is keenly aware of the problems people with disabilities face. Their mission is to promote stronger communities and richer lives by bringing people excluded from freely given support into healthy and lasting relationships.

How can we support Do For One?

  • Do For One community groups are people who focus their time, talent, and resources to bring vulnerable people with disabilities together with people who are ready, willing and able to form personal and supportive relationships with them. Friendship, spokesmanship, social support, and social change can emerge when people’s gifts and concerns are brought into the center of community.
